Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A structured, collaborative way of noticing how thoughts, feelings, and behavior feed each other, and practicing changes that hold up outside the session.
Approach
As a cognitive behavioral therapist, Dr. Minkovich meets you where you are and adapts the therapy to what you actually need, not the other way around.
Dr. Minkovich is an integrative therapist who believes that treatment should fit the client, not the other way around. Her work is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.
In initial sessions, you and Dr. Minkovich will identify the goals that guide the interventions used. Together you'll explore past and present, thoughts and emotions, and develop new patterns of thought and action.
A structured, collaborative way of noticing how thoughts, feelings, and behavior feed each other, and practicing changes that hold up outside the session.
Skills for riding out intense emotion: distress tolerance, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
A well-researched trauma treatment that gradually and safely reduces the grip of avoided memories and situations, at a pace you help set.
I believe that lasting change requires exploration of past and present, thoughts and emotions, while holding onto goals and taking action steps. Therapy is both understanding and movement: insight that turns into something you can do.
Fifteen minutes, no charge, no pressure, no intake paperwork. You describe what's going on in your own words, Dr. Minkovich tells you honestly whether she's the right fit, and if she isn't, she'll point you somewhere better.
